The Good, The Bad & The Awesome Adventure of a Tricycle Ride
Saturday, December 10, 2011 0 ♣ Riding a tricycle can sometimes be considered as one of the most famous mode of transport these days. Even if it is very well-known, there are still downsides if you are to choose on riding it. The following are what I had observed to be the worst things you get while riding a tricycle. 1. The Price. - Here in the Ateneo, a student is given a discount for his or her ride. Even though the students get discounts, 25 Pesos is still charged for 1 passenger and, as far as I know, 12.50Php each is charged for 2 passengers. 2. The Noise. – Of course, every now and then, people riding a tricycle will get annoyed by the constant vroooooom-ing of the tricycle. This noise also adds up to the noise created by the other vehicles outside the tricycle, which is really irritating at times. 3. It’s Bumpy. – Ever felt the sudden “earthquake” while riding the tricycle? It’s like the world suddenly had an earthquake throughout the duration of your trip, and you feel like it will be the reason for your head hemorrhage someday… These things are just some of the reasons why riding a tricycle can be disliked by many people, but if you would come to think of it, there are more reasons to love the tricycle than to hate it, and here, I have listed just some of the few. I listed it down from the most serious to the most awesome things you get while riding a tricycle. 1. You get a fast ride. – Being a ride that is small and compact, the tricycle can be driven in narrow streets. This is also helpful when there is heavy traffic in Katipunan, and the tricycle could just zoom through the traffic! You will feel like you’re the Schumacher of the Philippines. 2. There is a mirror! – If you would observe, there frequently is a mirror in the headboard of the tricycle. What could possibly be cooler than having your hair done just right before you go to school, or to any place, in this case…… 3. Have a CONCERT. – As embarrassing as this may sound, I usually sing while in
a tricycle! The noise blurs out my voice while singing, and it saves me a lot of embarrassment… You can try it the next time you ride a tricycle!
4. You’re in a ride of a lifetime. – While riding a tricycle, try to “reminisce” on what you see outside. Unlike the jeepney, you are in a more comfortable position to watch what is happening outside. Is it raining? Is it sunny? Is there someone cute? Is there someone who needs your help? Is there anything special today? In riding a tricycle, you are facing a lot of difficulties, but it’s up to you to make these difficulties an advantage that you can use for your own sake. Consider riding a tricycle just like the ride of your life. P.S. I still think having a concert in the tricycle is more awesome than the last though… Nah, just kidding… :D ![]() Labels: awesome adventure, simple joys, tricycle ride |
