Jeepney rides have already been a part of my life - going to school, to rehearsals, to malls and back home. Well, jeepney rides aren’t exactly the most comfortable rides but I don’t really have much of a choice. Not to mention the fact that the jeepney stop is located near a wet market, you can just imagine how much hassle it can get. Which is why I never actually thought I’d look forward to jeepney rides until I find the “simple joys.”

Can you remember the time when you first had your jeepney ride with your parents? How about the time that they/you wanted to say “bayad po” to pay or “para ho” to ask the jeepney to stop?

I saw a little kid having his first ride, amazed on how the seats of a jeepney is sideways, on how money is passed from one end of the jeepney to the driver or conductor, on how the wind passed through the sides of the jeepney and cools the airs as he reached his stop and shouts “Para!” and blushes like a cherry. Oh, how cute was he!

Simple Joy in Life = the way a child is so carefree and innocent makes me realize something – life’s too short to move too fast. Take time to stop, look, and listen. Appreciate life, enjoy life! “Para po!”
