All I Want for Christmas
Saturday, December 31, 2011 1 ♣ It's been about a week since Christmas had passed but the memories made and the gifts received will remain unforgotten. Speaking of gifts, I bet you were tempted to open those before Christmas. Seriously though, where's the fun in that? Wouldn't you rather feel the excitement and the anticipation in opening those gifts? What happened to those "Santa" days where you wait for Christmas morning to tear open the presents under the tree? People nowadays tend to open their gifts on the day they receive them. What's the point in that? Maybe when a person gets older, they just don't want to wait anymore. That's not how it is for children. They wait for Christmas before opening their gifts. You can see the joy in their faces. Their bright smiles when they get a toy they really wanted or a book or whatever it is. That's what Christmas is truly about. Opening those gifts and spreading the laughter and happiness to the people with you. They are one of the reasons why Christmas is still alive, so that everyone will see that there will always be a day where they can forget about their problems and just be happy. I'm not saying that teens and adults don't appreciate the gifts they receive, they do. I mean, who wouldn't really? It's nice to be thought of by the people around. It shows how they care about you and how much they appreciate your friendship/relationship. The point is... appreciate everything you receive. The simple joy that children get when they open their gifts should be much valued by others too. They should feel that joy and not make it an obligation to tear open those presents. I know it's really late for me to greet you but I still will... MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAVE A HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR! Labels: Christmas, gifts, simple joys |
