TRAFFIC MAGIC
Sunday, January 22, 2012 0 ♣ Ever felt the rage while you’re inside your car while stuck in the traffic along Katipunan? Ever felt the “sayang naman yung oras” moment while waiting for the car in front of you to move forward? Ever asked yourself the question “bakit ba traffic?” when you arestill in front of Miriam College, where it’s still far from the u-turn for gate 3?Well, if yes, you’re one of the many Ateneans who just hate going through thetraffic jam every single day. This traffic may really affect one’s mood from that moment of the morning, up to the time when he or she is ready to leave. It is very hassling on the part of a student, or even aprofessor, to get past the very long line of cars. What could you do in a 20-minute(or even more) traffic, you ask me? Well, for one, you can do a little sight-seeing around the vicinity where the traffic is happening. Maybe, notice things you haven’t noticed before. This suggestion, though, is not for all!Drivers, stay put, and focus on the car around you! Second suggestion is to listen to some radio. Are you still in trend? Do you know your favorite singer’s latest song? Maybe you’d catch it the next time you turn on the radio! (Plus, you’ll get a chance to sing privately if you’re the only one in the car!) Third suggestion, if you’re not the one driving, maybe you can take the opportunity, from not moving at all, tostudy for your first class of the day, or for the upcoming midterms next week.Maybe, you could do some calculus while in the car, or you could do some java programming while you’re at it. And then again, maybe you should just stick to reading some light poems for your literature class. Lastly, why not have some time withGod. If the traffic is that long, why not try to pray? Maybe, the traffic is how God’s telling you to talk to him, and forget everything that is happening with your life. If the traffic takes up to 20 minutes of your time, it’s just the right time to pray the Rosary, or have a little reflection of your dayyesterday, and how you can make it better today. In short, what I’m really trying to say is that you should find a way to make your time very productive during the times when you’re stuck in traffic. Find time to turn things around! Instead of perceiving that your day started wrong, think that you actually started itright because of the things you did while jammed in traffic! ![]() Labels: Ateneo, Katipunan, Miriam, Philippines, simple joys, Traffic |
